Finished Marley and Me by John Grogan for the New Authors Challenge.  I haven't seen the movie but I enjoyed the book.

I'm sure you all know what it's about so I won't get into that.

It's scary for me to think about what will happen when Sam gets older.  I don't know if I'd ever be able to make the decision to have him put to sleep, but I'd hate to think of him just getting worse and worse and suffering.

But hopefully I'll have another 10 years with him at least; he's only six.  But 10 years doesn't seem long enough at all.

I know exactly what you mean. I don't even want to think about when my pets get older. That is something I really don't wanna deal with. Dana and I saw the movie last weekend and we both cried. lol Stupid movie...

Yeah, I have to wait for DVD. :) I know there's no way I'll be okay with watching it in a theater with a bunch of other people.

I've been saying that I want to read the book before I see the movie, but on the flipside I don't want to ruin the movie as books are always so much better.

I know I'll cry like a big 'ol baby. Heck, it makes me cry just thinking about not having my furbabies forever.

I don't think that'll necessarily wreck the movie if you read the book first. I'm sure the book will be better, but a lot of the incidents described in the book would be awesome in a movie.
