Finished Light on Snow by Anita Shreve. I read this for the A-Z challenge ("L" for Light on Snow) and the Read Your Name challenge (the first l in "Kelly").
There are two aspects of this book. The first is sort of a mystery--Nicky (a 12-year-old girl) and her father are walking in the woods when they find a newborn baby girl in the snow. They take her to the hospital but nobody knows who the mother is and why she left the baby to die. The second part is about the other half of their family--Nicky's mom and baby sister, Clara, who died a few years before in a car accident. Nicky spends a lot of the novel remembering her mom and Clara. It sounds sad (and it is) but it's also an amazing book. (Sadly, it's my last Anita Shreve until she releases a new book, which will hopefully be soon.)
If you haven't started reading Anita Shreve yet, this would be a great one to start with because I had a harder time than usual putting this book down. :)
For those sponsoring me, do not worry. This pace will not keep up. I may finish a fourth book tomorrow (currently scheduled to be Kate Jacobs' Knit Two), but I doubt I'll finish book five on Monday.
(My TV shows start coming back tomorrow night, so I will have other things to do besides read--but I will still be reading a lot.)

Inspired by you, I have a section in my new day planner to keep track of how many books I read this year. I'll be lucky if I read three all year. Ha!
