Finished North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley for the New Author Challenge.
Another really fantastic book. This is about Terra, a girl with a huge birthmark on her face. She spends her entire life hiding the mark (mostly through makeup, but she tries and gets treatments done, too). It's basically the defining thing about her. Her family's totally disfunctional, too; they all tiptoe around her dad, who is basically a complete jerk who belittles everyone. (Although when other people are around, he acts like the world's nicest guy.)
Then she meets Jacob, who dresses like a goth. They like each other pretty much instantly, but it's not so much a boy-girl true love connection as it is the fact that they sort of recognize who the other person really is.
It's much better than I'm making it sound, but I'm sick, so give me a break. :)
