Finished The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin for the New Author Challenge.
I got this on Jen's recommendation and learned on Facebook that my old piano teacher, Scot, also liked it.*
Super good book, very entertaining. Until Jen read it a while ago, my only knowledge of this is that it was one of two books that Claudia Kishi enjoyed (80s points for anyone who knows who Claudia Kishi is).
Anyway. I'm sure that you've all read this before, because it's awesome AND older than I am, but if not, it's about Sam Westing. He dies and his will gathers 16 people who may or may not be connected to him. The will states that his death was not from natural causes, and the team (they're split into eight two-person teams) that figures out who killed him will get his $10 million fortune.
It won the Newbury Medal and according to Booklist is "a supersharp mystery, confoundingly clever and very funny."
You may figure out the answers pretty early, but it's still really fun. Totally recommended.
* = If you are in the DC area and need piano lessons, Scot = awesome; he was even interviewed about it on NPR!

You should get it for Nathan. Seriously. :) It's fantastic.
Also, thanks. :) (I do feel bad that it took me since Thursday to read it, because it's only 182 pages.)
