The Kel!
So I love the fact that we are only 5 days into 2009 and you've already read 6 books! You seriously rock! I've knocked 2 out so far... so I feel good about that.
And yes -- you do need to see those movies you mentioned! Especially Slumdog. Seriously. I don't want to overhype it... but man oh man - it is phenomenal. Best movie I saw all of last year.
Tash and I leave for Germany the first of next month... so hopefully we'll be able to get together before than. Also -- do you have any favorite "book blogs"? I'm going to check out the challenge website right now - but was just curious if you have any other recommendations.
Once again - you rock. I hope your 2009 has been wonderful so far!

Book blogs: I like caribousmom.com and Read Street (weblogs.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/books/blog).

Two so far is awesome! What are you reading? I've mostly been reading books that are less than intellectually stimulating. I do have the book of Slumdog Millionaire, but I haven't read it yet. I want to save it for when I go to Arizona in April.

I'd love to see you and Tasha. :)

Holy crap - you are ahead of the one book per day pace! WOW!

I have a one book per week pace!

I know. I am out of control.

This does sound interesting, but I'd think the subject matter would make it difficult to read. Or maybe it just hits too close to home, since I live in Mormon country. Have you ever read The Book of Fred? It's a quick read and an interesting look at how a child raised in a fictional cult fares in the outside world.

Sister Wife is a YA novel, so it's pretty simplistic.

I haven't read The Book of Fred but it sounds good. I am currently on book buying hiatus though; my TBR list for 2009 is insane.

[this is good]
I'm currently reading "Escape" which is the true story of Carolyn Jessop who left a fundamentalist and polygamist Mormon Cult with her 8 kids.
It's fascinating reading. <shivers> thank GOD it's not me.

I read that last year. Fascinating but very creepy.

I think I read that at least one of her kids ended up going back.
