DVD Project update

One thing to remember, Kel, is that you can never reach the end. There will always be new DVD's with features. Watching just the movies would be difficult but doable. If you have to watch the movie four different times each? You'd be stark raving Dennis-Hopper-in-Apocalypse-Now mad.

Plus, all the second-hand features can't help but harsh on Sam's mellow.

Tom, you kind of suck as a motivational speaker. :)

I think I'm going to give this my best try. And I think I'll be able to do it. It will probably take me five years or so, but I bet I can do it. :)

And as Jen pointed out, I can do other things while listening to the commentary. So long as it doesn't involve me listening to my iPod, too, I'm still fulfilling the bonus feature requirement. :)

And so far, most of them have been pretty fun. I watched the features on the second disc of the Omen (original) and it was really interesting. (Richard Donner is a character and a half.)

Kelly. Dude. Really? ALL the commentaries? Because I've tried listening to some of the lesser commentaries and a lot of those SUCK and are SO BORING. Even the "main" commentaries can be just awful.

But I guess, if you can do something else while it's playing, it's not THAT bad.

I guess.

I'm going to try. There's a good chance I'll stop. :) But I plan on at least trying.
Oh, Kel: I suck at a great many things.

I love some of the features--Zach Braff and Natalie Portmann's commentary on Garden State was awesome, eg--but some of them ("Special Bonus! Key Gaffer Frank Jones and Color Timer Bert Smegma describe their roles in the production) don't do much for me. I think it's a great project, but if a feature sucks, I'd bail on it without worrying too much.
You say suck like it's a bad thing.

hold your applause please. My next show is at 10. :)

Seriously though, I didn't think you were going to watch all the commentaries and stuff.

I'm amazed that you still have the list!
Get more Gunderson at ten tonight, then tomorrow afternoon at 4 for the "Early Bird with Bee" show at Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips. ;-) And thank you for watching KellyVision.
I hate the commentaries. I like the 'making of the movie' featurette as well as the deleted scenes. There is no way I could sit through 2-3 hours of a commentary after watching the movie. But, you know I can hardly stay awake through most movies without commentary. HA!!HA!!
I like the Office commentaries. They're usually pretty funny. And I bet I'll like some of the other ones, too. I'm just not sure how fond I'll be of production design commentaries. That just sounds painful.
Good luck!
