Entertainment QotD: Oscar Predictions - Best Picture

Yes I can feel your excitement. I hope your favorites win. I don't even know have of the people. lol. I do love the glamor of it all.
The only best picture nominee I've seen is Juno, so I'm mostly just picking based on the buzz I've heard. I do think Juno deserves Best Original Screenplay, but I would be shocked (and kind of unhappy) if it won Best Picture or Best Actress--I thought it was good but not great. Although it's not like the best movie released that year always wins the Oscar. :)
So true. Even back in the day when I could afford to go to the movies I was always at odds with the Oscars. Go figure. To each his own.

I agreed with all of your picks, except for Actress (I think it'll go to Marion Cotillard, for La Vie en Rose) and Supporting Actress (Amy Ryan, Gone Baby Gone). Then again, I haven't seen ANY of the nominees. I'm like you: just gauging the hype. The last year I saw all the nominees before the ceremony was ten years ago:

As Good as It Gets, James L. Brooks, Bridget Johnson and Kristi Zea, producers (TriStar)
The Full Monty, Uberto Pasolini, producer (Fox Searchlight)
Good Will Hunting, Lawrence Bender, producer (Miramax)
L.A. Confidential, Arnon Milchan, Curtis Hanson and Michael Nathanson, producers (Warner Bros.)
Titanic, James Cameron and Jon Landau, producers (Paramount and 20th Century Fox)

I thought Titanic was amazing on the big screen, but L.A. Confidential was my best picture choice.
I see your Julie Christie and Tilda Swinton and raise you with Marion Coutillard (or whatever her name is) and Cate Blanchett. I can't imagine Blanchett not winning Best Supporting Actress, because she looks exactly like Dylan. Otherwise, I go with the rest of your picks.

Gone Baby Gone was awesome and if I'm wrong about Tilda Swinton, I really hope it goes to Amy Ryan because she was awesome.

The only reason I'm thinking Julie Christie is because she's apparently only won one other Oscar and I think that the Oscars may be slightly over giving awards to people in music bio-pics.

Can't wait to see which of us is right! :)

We shall see. I haven't heard anything good about Cate Blanchett's chances and I haven't seen the movie. (What has two thumbs and is not a Dylan fan? This guy.)
Well, now I know I need to get you Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits for your birthday :D
You are welcome to, but the odds of me exchanging it are very high. ;)
