Half done
So the first part of my double is over. I did manage to watch Anchorman, but most of my day has been writing stories, posting wire copy, cutting and posting It's Academic (our high school quiz show), walking Sam and eating lunch (pizza).
Sam is mad at me again. He had just forgiven me for leaving him for three days and now I repay that forgiveness by getting him out of bed at 6:30am and making him go for a ride in the car (which he hates) and now he's at work and there is no couch. There is only his ridiculously comfortable dog pillow, but it is NOT THE SAME and I am the worst mommy EVER.
Meanwhile, my head hurts but you know, hey, whatever. Eight hours to go. And tomorrow will be easier (only 16 hours here instead of 17 like today AND there will be the Oscars, which will take up most of my evening).
No live blog of the Oscars though; it's scheduled to go on til 11:30 and I have to switch over to our station at 11 so I can cut the show. I'm DVRing it though (and the newscast that follows it, because the Oscars usually goes over its scheduled timelimits.
I am totally craving sushi, but I think I'm getting some either Friday or Sunday. Or, knowing me, both.

So far, today's gone by pretty quickly. I hope tomorrow goes by this fast.
He's not unhappy right now, but he's just letting me know that he thinks my treatment of him this week has been unacceptable.
As someone who's never had sushi, what would you recommend to ease myself in? (Preferably the less slimy, the better. Heh.)
Well...I will give you a two-part question. The first is, how adventurous are you, food-wise? And the second is, do you like spicy food?
I tend to eat the sushi rolls as opposed to the more blatant sushi (strips of raw fish). So there's not much in the way of slimy with mine.
I'd probably try a California roll or a tuna roll first. They're pretty newbie-friendly. If you like spicy, try a spicy tuna or spicy salmon roll. Those are awesome.
I didn't like sushi at first, but I kept trying new rolls and after I think three or four attempts, I woke up one morning going, "Wow, I REALLY want sushi today."
You might like salmon rolls. A lot of people like philly rolls. I forget the fish in there (tuna, maybe?) but there's cream cheese. I do not like philly rolls. You know what you should do? Insist they take you someplace where there's also non-sushi stuff, order yourself the teriyaki of your choice and a california roll and try some of what they get. That's the easiest way to learn what you like without spending a ton of money in the process.
At first, he just sat in the middle of the floor, shaking. Now he's okay. He won't go in the sitting room or the kitchen, though. (In our first apartment, he wouldn't go in the kitchen.)
I worry if this trend continues, he's eventually going to have one couch cushion and that's it.
