Sigh.
I hate Ralph Nader. I really do. I mean, here's the thing, he has to know that he's never going to be elected and all he's going to do is hijack votes from the real candidate.
I have a theory that he's actually a Republican/blackmailed by Republicans.
And you can tell me that crap about voting your conscience instead of your fears all you want, but my conscience says that we do not need another four years of Republican leadership. (Need proof? I submit George Bush.)
Yes. This may actually be my bitchiest post ever.

Because so far It's all been "fake" discussion?
Fucking bastard. I've despised him ever since he said there was no difference between Bush and Gore.
I wish he would endorse the viable candidate he believes in the most and stay out of it. I support the rights of third-party candidates, but Nader has run so many times it would have happened by now if it was going to happen. And the last thing this country needs is another 2000 debacle.
And the article is right – He wasn't always an a**hole. :)
Is this a democracy or isn't it?
Is this a democracy or isn't it? I mean I thought that one of the definitions of a democracy was that any citizen was permitted to run for office.
The thing is, I've always been a supporter of the Green Party and of Nader. I'm not a Democrat - I'm a Progressive - Democrats do not automatically deserve my vote and if they don't put forward a progressive agenda they will not get it. Sometimes that will mean that Republicans get into power because more people support the Republicans. That's democracy - deal with it.
This is absolutely a democracy. As I said before, anyone can run for president, which doesn't mean anyone should.
I said this in an earlier post, but the whole "vote your conscience, not your fears" argument for voting for Nader really annoyed me. My conscience said that George Bush was the worst person for the job and eight years later, I feel like I've been proven right.
I do feel better about his candidacy now though because I feel like someone who's voting purely for idealistic reasons is just as likely to pick Barack Obama.
My other reason for disliking Ralph Nader is that his platform is suspiciously similar to Obama and Clinton's--health care is good, corporate greed is bad. He's saying we need a change and so are they. I see no reason why he feels compelled to throw his hat in the ring because the Democratic candidates are saying the exact same thing he is. Except he wants to impeach Bush and Cheney which, all things considered, would have been better served years ago.
