Vacation word problem

get a new set of friends? kidding...

invite them all, ask them to behave for one night so you can spend time with them, and if they can't then it's their choice not to come.

If you invite this one but not that one, etc, then you become the bad guy and that's not your goal. You want 'em all to come to dinner and have a good time with you and you want to enjoy seeing your friends.

Put the honus on them. It's not your fault they decide to act a certain way.

Total bummer that you have to deal with the drama tho. :(
Smack the ones who are misbehaving on the nose with a rolled up newspaper and send them to a corner of the room where they can think about how they acted badly and how they're adults and should act like it?

I think it's basically going to be dinner for everyone but Kelly, and the bar will be Kelly and Amanda if she wants to come.

I'm basically just going to see Josh, Jon and Charles at Saturday's party--they don't get a second chance to be rude to my other friends.

I would be so tempted. :)
Is there a rhyme or reason as to who they're rude to?

Josh and Jon (couple) and Charles (their friend--he's my friend too but I know him through them) pretty much dislike straight people, especially straight men. They admitted this after the fact when I was like, "Why were you so rude to my friends?" So they would get along with Kelly and Kathy, plus Amanda (and Dana, if she comes too) and me, but would not get along with Chris (and Ashley) and Haywood. Chris and Haywood are both straight men who work in the media.

I don't know how Kelly would be to Kathy, but I know that Kathy has said multiple times that she doesn't want to see Kelly again and has also been really hesitant to go places where Kelly *might* be.

I always invite everyone, and tell them all that everyone else is invited, and refuse to listen to the whining. If they want to see me sans my other friends, they can invite me to something. Otherwise, I am only friends with friendly people.
Of course I also recognize it's not so easy for everyone. I give massive *HUGS* and hope that your friends behave themselves. Otherwise, I hear keeping a spray bottle at hand is useful. Just spritz them in the eyes and say "BEHAVE" very loudly. Spooks 'em right into submission.
LOL. I would totally love that. It'd be like that scene in the Office where Jim just starts spraying Dwight and Michael with water and saying "NO!" very loudly.
Yay! Exactly!

I LOVE THAT SCENE! I say you should try it.

I got a Spiderman squirt toy in a box of Cheerios, but it is really small. I will have to look for a squirt bottle. That would be funny.

There are those little fish shaped water toys at dime stores. You just submerge them to fill the them up-- very handy for use in restaurants. They are just the right size to fit into a glass of water-- or red wine!
I would rather not waste the wine. :) But yeah, I am definitely liking the idea of a spraybottle of water more and more.
