What are the positive and negative associations that you and those around you have with blogging? Have attitudes changed over time?
I think a lot of times when people hear "blogger," they think of the political blogs, which are basically two steps away from the muckraking journalists. Essentially, they think of people who just say whatever they want without necessarily worrying it it's true.
Personally, I think of blogs as being like this one. Something that's close to a diary, but one that anyone can read. I don't always remember that any stranger could read what I write here, but I try to walk the line between being open and honest and remembering that this is a public forum, even though I don't think people really read this that much. (Except for the people in my neighborhood.)
I now have the "Who are the people in your neighborhood?" song from Sesame Street stuck in my head.
